Here are some examples to inspire you...
Deborah was a wise old gal, she judged the land of Israel,
She held back Barak, nailed the fight, with Jael’s help, its women right!?
Each judge saved Israel from itself, restoring law and national health,
Like Gideon, though an unknown boy, with a soggy fleecy and angelic joy,
He stood for God, reduced his army, strategists would say he’s barmy!
Twenty Judges came and went, all for Israel’s betterment,
Strongman Samson, he was nice, who Philistines tricked and paid the price!
Jesus walked straight past. Quite normal in other circumstances
but today we are in a boat and he is on the water.
When I hear him teach I know this man is an amazing Rabbi
When I see him heal the sick I know he is blessed by God
When I hear the Pharisees and Sadducees arguing with him I can see he has divine knowledge. Who is he really?
How can he walk on water? How can he heal the sick?
Is he just a man or is he the son of God?
Some say "I need to see it with my eyes
then I will believe". I have seen!
One girl. One boy.
One angel. One census.
One donkey. One long and dusty journey.
Many frightened shepherds. Hosts of angels singing.
One star. Some wise men following.
One mean King Herod. One evil plan.
One town, Bethlehem. Hundreds of people.
One inn. Zero room.
Some sheep. Three gifts.
One stable. One night.
Two thousand years ago.
One Son of God.
A Saviour born.
David, little guy. Goliath, huge giant.
Face each other across the valley.
“You think you can kill me?” shouts Goliath.
David knows, with God on my side I can.
He puts five stones in his pocket and walks forward.
The stone goes in the sling, the sling goes round and round.
The stone flies through the air, Goliath tumbles to the ground.
Phillistines defeated. Israelites celebrate.
They know, with God, anything is possible!
